Fortum has chosen Maintpartner's MP INtelligence® service based on machine learning technologies to control the thermal treatment production processes at its Riihimäki plant. The MP INtelligence service helps Fortum to minimise production interruptions due to unexpected breakdowns and to optimise the entire thermal treatment process. It continuously learns about the operation of the plant to improve its understanding of what are the normal operation conditions to enable Fortum to react to issues proactively.
In addition to hazardous waste, the Riihimäki plant uses municipal waste as fuel and generates about 100 GWh of electricity and 500 GWh of district heat per year. The MP INtelligence® service in Riihimäki was introduced in February. The service includes the collection and processing of customer data in real time, data analysis and automated instructions and alarms generated for Fortum to avoid production disturbances.
"Fortum already has experience of using MP INtelligence from many power plants. We are delighted that they want to extend the use of the service to new production facilities," says Manu Skyttä, who is responsible for the MP INtelligence business at Maintpartner.
MP INtelligence® is part of Maintpartner’s digital solutions for improving productivity.
