The safety function of Valmet Board and Paper Machines awarded Maintpartner with a safety prize at its HSE Day for partners in September. Maintpartner manages the maintenance of Valmet's board and paper mill and foundry in Jyväskylä, Finland.
The award criterion for the annual prize was the exceptionally good attitude in the teams as regards occupational safety.
"Maintpartner works proactively in challenging working conditions, actively raising security considerations, investing in the training and development of their staff. Determined and long-term work to improve safety is shown as good safety management in the daily work," thanked Mika Peltola from Valmet's risk and safety management.
"Our local team managers, together with their teams and Valmet staff, have actively promoted safety work at the facilities in Jyväskylä for many years," says Arto Malkamäki, Service Manager for Maintpartner's contract management in Central and Eastern Finland. "We are very proud of this award."
Valmet has also previously thanked Maintpartner employees for the good occupational safety at Valmet’s plants. For example, by actively observing near miss situations, the number of accidents has been substantially reduced.
In Jyväskylä, Valmet manufactures board and paper machines exported to several parts of the world. Some thirty Maintpartner professionals work every day in the basic maintenance of the board and paper mill factory and foundry. In addition, the technicians and designers of Maintpartner support Valmet's projects as well as maintenance of process automation and electrical systems.
