Maintpartner and Moventas sign a multi-year agreement in Jyväskylä

Maintpartner Oy and wind turbine gear manufacturer Moventas Wind Oy have signed a multi-year agreement on the maintenance of Moventas Wind Oy's Rautpohja and Ikola production facilities in Jyväskylä, Finland. Effective from the beginning of January 2009, the agreement expands the existing agreement between the companies and will be implemented by close to 40 Maintpartner employees. The agreement significantly strengthens Maintpartner's position as a supplier of maintenance services in the Jyväskylä region.

Agreement for real estate maintenance in Arboga, Sweden

Maintpartner will provide services and real estate maintenance for Saab in the Åsby industrial area of Arboga, Sweden, as part of Coor Service Management AB's nationwide real estate maintenance agreement with Saab AB. The three-year subcontract signed with Coor Service Management AB has an extension option. The agreement will become effective on 1 January 2009.

Energy meter maintenance agreement in Sweden

Maintpartner AB and Actaris Technologies AB have signed an agreement to maintain Actaris' district heating and district cooling energy meters. Actaris Technologies is part of Actaris Itron Group. The three-year agreement has a two-year extension option. The agreement is effective 1 April 2009. Maintpartner will handle the maintenance of a total of about 15,000 energy measuring stations in the greater Stockholm area. The agreement also includes meter repairs and replacements.

As a result of the agreement, Maintpartner will recruit 8-10 new employees.

Arizona Chemical, Eka Chemicals, Eka Polymer Latex and Maintpartner sign agreements on maintenance and project activities at chemical plants in Oulu, Finland

Arizona Chemical, Eka Chemicals and Eka Polymer Latex have signed agreements with Maintpartner Oy on the maintenance of their production facilities in Oulu, Finland, and on the management of plant-related modernization projects. Maintpartner will assume responsibility as of 1 January 2009.

"As part of the agreements, some of the current maintenance personnel will transfer to Maintpartner, but we will also immediately begin recruiting new employees for various maintenance and project activities", says Tommi Kajasoja, Vice President, Region West Finland, Maintpartner.

"These agreements enable significant synergy benefits both for our existing and new customers as well as career opportunities for our own employees", Kajasoja continues.

All three companies operate in Oulu’s Nuottasaari industrial area and they have previous experience with a shared maintenance partner.

Maintpartner acquires Swedish Maskinservice i Degerfors

Industrial maintenance and operation services provider Maintpartner has acquired the entire share capital of the Swedish Maskinservice i Degerfors AB from the company's founder Mikael Ljungberg. Maskinservice i Degerfors AB offers mechanical maintenance primarily to the steel and the engineering industries. The company's services include maintenance services for heavy industry, production of machined spare parts and machine installations. It has 32 employees.

For now, the company will continue operating under its own name and later will be merged with Maintpartner.

”The acquired business is a central part of our expansion to heavy industry mechanical maintenance. We will invest in the company also in the future to increase the company’s capacity and to better serve our customers”, says Roger Sundemo, Managing Director, Maintpartner AB.

Maintpartner expands to Tampere area and acquires two companies located in Nokia

Industrial maintenance and operations service provider Maintpartner has acquired Nokia, Finland-based IS-Pro Ltd. and IS-Engineering Ltd. The companies were acquired from Tapani Rättäri and Eija Kangas, both of whom will remain with the companies.

IS-Pro Ltd. specialises in industrial maintenance, machinery and process installations, and procurement services. IS-Engineering Ltd. specialises in project management, industrial design and expert services. In addition to sites in Nokia, the companies also have facilities in Ikaalinen. The companies employ a total of over 60 people.

For now, IS-Pro and IS-Engineering will continue their operations under their own names; they will be merged with Maintpartner at a later date.

Maintpartner acquiring Sähkökymppi

Industrial maintenance and operations service provider Maintpartner Oy is acquiring Sähkökymppi Oy, based in Jyväskylä, Finland. With the acquisition, the entire personnel will transfer to Maintpartner’s payroll. Sähkökymppi specialises in industrial electrical and automation engineering. Its customers include companies in the forestry, construction materials, mechanical engineering, foodstuff and defence industries, among others.

Maintpartner strengthens in Western Finland

Conmaint, a specialist in industrial maintenance services and process construction, was transferred to Maintpartner's ownership on 27 March 2008. The letter of intent on the acquisition was signed in November 2007.

"The acquisition of Conmaint strengthens Maintpartner's presence in Western Finland. It gives us a foothold in Seinäjoki and Vaasa, where we previously didn't have operations. We have a site with some 160 employees in Kokkola. Moreover, this spring our operations are expanding to Pietarsaari, where we are establishing a new site", Raimo Huhtala, Vice President, Region West Finland, comments on Maintpartner's growth in Western Finland. Maintpartner employs a total of about 1,000 people in Finland and about 200 in Sweden.

Conmaint's main site and most of its employees are in Seinäjoki, where the company has offices, a machine shop and a warehouse. The number of personnel is currently 25.

"Conmaint has customers primarily in and around Seinäjoki and Vaasa, but we also carry out projects elsewhere in Finland. In addition to ordinary maintenance, we also supply complete production lines, including planning, procurement and installation. Conmaint will merge with Maintpartner this year. Until then, the company will continue operating under the Conmaint name.

Hexion Specialty Chemicals Oy and Maintpartner Oy have agreed on a contract extension covering the maintenance of Hexion’s production facility at Kitee. The new contract comes into effect immediately.

Maintpartner Awarded by the Swedish Road Administration

Maintpartner has been given an award by the Stockholm region of the Swedish Road Administration for operation and maintenance work in 2007. One of Maintpartner’s largest systems is Södra Länken (Southern Link), a seven-kilometre belt highway, five kilometres of which runs through a tunnel. The highway is located south of the city centre of Stockholm and was commissioned in October 2004. The Stockholm region of the Swedish Road Administration has been a Maintpartner customer since November 2004.

The SRA gave the following reasons for the award: "Since 2004, Maintpartner, which is responsible for the contracts of Södra Länken, Essingeleden and the Muskö tunnel, has displayed commitment and professional pride that are worth aspiring for. Maintpartner’s target orientation combined with continuous improvements in predictive maintenance and rationalisation has driven down costs while simultaneously maintaining quality at a high level in several transport systems of the Swedish Road Administration. Kemijoki and Maintpartner agree on local operations and maintenance of hydropower plants on the River Lieksanjoki

Kemijoki Oy and Maintpartner Oy have signed an agreement on maintenance and local operations for two of Kemijoki Oy's hydropower plants on the River Lieksanjoki, Finland. Operational responsibility transfers to Maintpartner on 1 April 2008.

"Maintpartner's local presence is important to us. It ensures prompt and flexible availability of maintenance services needed at our power plants", says Timo Torvinen, Head of Hydropower Plants at Kemijoki Oy.

The agreement strengthens Maintpartner's operations in Lieksa region where the company already has maintenance agreements with Amcor Flexibles Finland Oy and Pankaboard Oy.

Industrial maintenance company Maintpartner Oy is buying the entire share capital of Sahala Industrial Services Oy, a company specialising in industrial maintenance and process construction. The company has offices in Varkaus, Leppävirta, Kuopio, and Kuusankoski, and it employs approximately 110 persons. Sahala Industrial Services began operation in 2001 and has seen steady growth ever since.

"At this point, we realised that we had to make a decision to either further develop the organisation or sell the company," says Kari Kohvakka, Managing Director of Sahala Industrial Services.

The contract of sale, in line with Maintpartner's strategy of growth, further strengthens Maintpartner's maintenance and process competence in the field of industrial production.

Pankaboard and Maintpartner have signed a partnership contract for maintenance

Pankaboard Oy and Maintpartner Oy have signed a contract on overall maintenance of the Pankaboard board mill in Pankakoski. The purpose of the co-operation is to further improve the productivity of the board mill and the efficiency of its maintenance.

"Last autumn, we signed a maintenance contract with Amcor Flexibles Finland Oy, so this new contract is important for the development of our agency in Lieksa and for the regional supply of services", Maintpartner's Vice President, Central Finland, Juha Lepikko says.

The maintenance of the Pankaboard mill will be attended to by Maintpartner from 1 April 2008.
